Seth brought a hand up behind his head and gave it a small rub; It didn't really itch, so he wasn't really sure why he did, but did anyways. Though he realized Soren was just below his chin, his attention was fixed on the messily-dressed Burnstrike girl before him. Though usually dim to most of his surroundings, he noticed her unkempt garments, worn shoes and badly smudged make-up. Either this grungy look was intentional, or she had just been very upset, he concluded. While still wearing his Blastfur uniform of Black and Navy, with even the blazer still over her shoulders, he looked as though he could be the president of the united states in comparison, despite his messy hair. He, of course, kept all his observations to himself.
"Um...I'm Dani," She said after a short pause, she held out her hand to Seth. "W-we have a couple classes together." stammered the Burnstrike. It did not take a rocket scientist to figure out that her nerves were nearly bringing her to the point of passing out. Despite the shakiness of her voice and the unsteadiness of her hand, Seth felt no compulsion to be kind or comforting. He really rarely did, for that matter, and that fact was not about to change now. He made no move to return the handshake but simply shrugged and said, "Right, I recognize you."
He glanced back down to Soren at his side, who's mood seemed to have taken a turn for the worse. 'What's he moping about now?' he thought dully. The Wyrfeather looked at Dani with such little expression, so devoid of the previous happiness that he'd displayed earlier, something that left Seth rather confused. Of course though, this confusion died on the way up and never made it's way into a question or the quirk of an eyebrow.
All of a sudden though, as if the clouds had parted to reveal a blinding sun, another grin formed on Soren's face and he spoke genially with the girl again. After going on about some apology that was beyond Seth, Soren carried on, "Want to come with us? I'm showing Seth one of the spells that we learned in Charms today. The Professors never actually showed us, but it's a pretty spell, and I know it..."
"Oh, right. I'd nearly forgotten." Said Seth quietly. It was true; speaking to the two of them, while in limited conversation made the ever-looming homework of his disappear into the void. The mention of charms made it reappear with a blinding flash though, and an urgency to finally finish it. "Let's go outside then."
Not waiting for either of them to follow, he began making his way down the staircase to the front lawn outside the school.

Dani hid her disappointment and withdrew her hand, she ran it through her hair in effort to smooth the tangles. She wasn't looking her best and she knew it. Looking back up from her feet she smiled at Soren's comment, she knew that he didn't want her to be there. As if she had been the violin stumbling across the Cello's solo, they always got mad when you did that.
"Sure I'd love to come," she said. Having never paid attention in the Charms class she wondered if they had homework or if that they'd only practiced spells that day. She frowned slightly and followed the two boys out onto the Lawn.
She took a deep breath, every instinct of her body pressuring her into switching into her Animagus form, but she supressed the urge and instead made some awkward small talk.
"Its nice out here," She said spreading her arms out in an open gesture and spun once in a circle, being outside she never felt the insecurities that the walls of the school forced upon her. Her face automatically formed into a smile, and her teeth shone in their magically inhanced whitness. She looked at Seth, and all her feelings of freedom fled her body as quickly as they had come.
"You have nice eyes," she said to the reclusive Blastfur, the words were out of her mouth before she even thought about saying them.

Re: Just Looking in the Poetry Section, Continued
Soren cringed at the coldness Seth had shown towards Dani. He didn't let it bother him though, he glanced again at Dani and noticed her eyes...that was clearly smudged make-up...Had he made her cry? He crossed his arms, biting his lip slightly and noted mentally that he'd have to ask her about that, and deeply apologize.
Soren watched Dani, she spun and twirled, which almost made Soren laugh, he suppressed it though and still, kept an eye on her. She complimented Seth, which made him furrow his eyebrows for only just a second. He certainly hoped Seth wouldn't flip out at that, he was the anti-social one...who was unpredictable to most students. The Wyrfeather became to blush, why was he thinking about Seth so much?
For the time being, he followed Seth out of the school and onto the Lawn. Today, was a very beautiful day, the clouds were beginning to spread out, a blueish gray colour, the stars were plentiful, glowing quite radiantly in the pitch black sky. There weren't many city lights around the castle, so you could really see the blackness of the sky and numerous stars, which shone brightly. There was the slightest breeze in the air, not enough to make your hair blow to the point that it looked messy, but just a delicate blow. Soren began to lead them to a very secluded section of the Lawn, it was quite near the forest, but still on the Lawn, it was closed off by a few trees, but not too many. Inside the secluded area, which was a bit small, maybe the size of a classroom there were cheery blossom trees which were lightened up with lanterns near them. It really was beautiful over here.
He looked between the two of them and then smiled to Seth. "Remember what I said about the birds changing depending on your mood? Well, I'm quite happy right now, so my birds will probably be something...nice." he pulled out his wand from his pocket and looked out into the clear sky for a moment, then back at the two of them, smiling brightly. "Now, if you two want to try, remember to pronouce it properly. It's not 'a-vis', like it's spelling A-V-I-S, it's, "AH-vis." he paused for a moment then continued, "You hold your arm up in the air a bit, not completely outstretched, and you swish your hand twice-delicately."
Soren closed his eyes, looking back into the clear of the sky and he muttered the chants for the spell and swished his hand, out from his wand poured a flock of doves, who went gracefully flying off towards the moon, and quite quickly, out of sight. "See?" He said, turning back to them. "Why don't you two try, and then we can mix it with offense!" he grinned and took a step back from where he had casted, and set his wand at his side, looking quite content.

Re: Just Looking in the Poetry Section, Continued
A sense of relief flooded Seth as Dani finally lowered her hand. He had no real drive to want to come into contact with this girl he hardly knew a thing about, and even less so after being nearly dragged so brusquely out of the library.
He watched as the Burnstrike girl happily spun around, and merely stared at her with a stony gaze. Such a gaze gave a sensation of a barrier, almost as though he were surrounded by an icy sheet of water - Clear enough to see through, but your hand would freeze if you tried to reach behind it. She was right though, it was indeed beautiful outside. Trees covered the spacious, green lawn, stars began to appear in the sky, and birds chirped calls to their young, final warnings to come home before the sun made its repose for the day.
"You have nice eyes," ventured Dani, as he saw her look back at him. Her voice was calm and honest, clearly a fair amount of conviction behind her words. As much as it was a friendly gesture - in fact, a normal person would enjoy such a comment - Seth drew no warmth from it. It was something he had often been forced to discuss while receiving "help" from his muggle-school's counselor, the fact that compliments burned a hole inside him so. She had gone as far as saying it was a mental disorder. Seth had always denied it, believing instead that no one was better enough to deserve recognition above others, and he did not believe himself to be above it. Words meant so much, and to throw them around so easily...
Rather than a well deserved thank-you, he fixed the girl in his steely gaze, "They're just eyes." he said cooly. "Everyone has them."
A heavy silence hung in the air as none of them spoke for a moment; Even as though the grass and trees themselves had taken a deep breath. The Blastfur was well aware that words possessed the ability to cut deeper than knives when employed properly, and fancied that perhaps he'd managed to wield them well enough to cause at least a small cut.
Seth glanced down to Soren, who had a smile to return. Why was he always smiling? What was it that caused him to constantly be so happy other than just moments ago in the library?
"Remember what I said about the birds changing depending on your mood? Well, I'm quite happy right now, so my birds will probably be something...nice." said the boy softly as he deftly reached for his pocketed wand. Soren glanced up to the dimming sky momentarily before fixing his attention back on the two of them, an ecstatic grin still shining as brilliantly as the newly-found stars above. "Now, if you two want to try, remember to pronounce it properly. It's not 'a-vis', like it's spelling A-V-I-S, it's, "AH-vis." he paused for a moment then continued, "You hold your arm up in the air a bit, not completely outstretched, and you swish your hand twice-delicately." he relayed perfectly, as though reading from an invisible textbook that he and he alone could see.
The Wyrfeather followed his own advice, and of course was able to produce the desired effect. Doves came pouring from the tip of his wand like a fountain and took wing into the sky, leaving behind them a light shower of snowy feathers. Soren beamed, and turned so he could see both Seth and Dani, instructing them to try.
While slightly glad to finally be able to practice what he'd originally set out to do, Seth lazily reached for his wand and tried to mimic Soren's casting. A swishing of his hand, a quiet incantation, and a small "pop" made itself heard in the air. Seth's minor excitement quickly turned to disappointment as two scrawny, mangy crows flew into the air, cawing with voices like those of nails on a blackboard. The Blastfur glared at them as they flew off and vanished with the darkness of the night.

Re: Just Looking in the Poetry Section, Continued
Dani stopped staring at his eyes, as he spoke, his words hit her like as if they were daggers. That was how her father always talked to her, without a care in the world as though nothing mattered to him. The only time he ever cared was when she told him, she wouldn't marry the leader of their 'cult'. That was the night she'd run away, leaving everything behind.
Though she now shrugged off the hate that lay behind those words and didn't concentrate on them long enough for them to perice her heart. Instead she let her attention be drawn to the stars in the sky, she smiled and muttered under her breath the silly nursery rhyme she'd learned from a muggle girl once. She smiled when she saw the forest and the tree they were standing under. How often she had wished that she could climb into the tree and take off, like a bird, but her wishes were never granted. tonight was different however though she herself would not be taking off, she would be creating more wonderful birds, if her mood was right.
She watched and listened to Soren as he demonstrated with his wand, the flick of the wrist and then the flock of white doves that soared into the air from his wand. Smiling she watched as a white feather drifted on the breeze and flew merrily over to her. She grabbed it and wrapped it it her hair, smiling as it lay there. She took a moment to concentrate on what Soren said so she could master the spell as well. With this break Seth took over and did the same as Soren, though only two crows flew from his wand. She wondered silently to herself what had caused his bad mood. And though her mind let to this dicission she didn't like it, that she with her complement had caused it.
She frowned and flicked her wand saying "Ah-vis," softly.
She watched as a single small Mocking Bird shot out of her wand. She put her hand instictivly on her hip in disbelief. Honestly she couldn't even convince herself that she was in a good mood, she was with friends and actually talking to people for once, she'd opened up. So shouldn't all her bottled energy have gone away? She muttered something under her breath that sounded like 'stupid spell'.
